Role of Working Group 4
The Communications working group has been tasked with ensuring that effective communication takes places between the SURVIVE working groups, with other interested stakeholders and the public. A key role of the working group is to ensure that the activities and recommendations of SURVIVE are promoted and targeted at the correct audience.

Key Issues being addressed by the Working Group
SURVIVE Website - went live on 26th June 2008
The initial focus of the website will be to:
- Publicise the work of the SURVIVE Executive and the Working Groups
- Make available Best Practice information to the breakdown/recovery industry and other road workers.
- Provide the travelling public with easy access to guidance and advice produced by SURVIVE.
- Publisise PAS 43: 2008 and other SURVIVE initiatives.
SURVIVE Blogsite - In parallel with the development of the SURVIVE website a blogsite is being piloted. The blogsite will contain relevant and topical hard shoulder stories with a clear safety message. The blogsite will soon be integrated into the website.
Public Relations Programme - The Working Group is developing a Public Relations programme which will be available in November 2008. The initial focus of the PR programme will be the deployment of the website and the blogsite.
IHT Stakeholder Forum - Road Worker Safety - SURVIVE via the Working Group intends to work in collaboration with other organizations to help promote public/industry awareness. The DSA and Driving Schools - both BSM (via RAC) and the AA Driving School have been approached and agreed to work with IHT regarding this initiative.
